The boxing match between Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant has been billed as one of the most anticipated in recent times. A pre-match press briefing was held at Beverly Hills, California on 21 September 2021.
This press conference got heated when the two boxers wanted to show their might by exchanging blows in the full glare of cameras. Canelo promotions and the TGB promotions are the major promoters of the event that has been sponsored by Heineken. The event will be held at MGM Grand Garden arena that has been the venue for several fights in the past.

His father, Ritchie plant is his trainer. His opponent is the number one star in boxing from Guadalajara, Mexico. He is the current WBA super middle weight champion. Eddie Reynoso is his trainer. Being two of the best boxers from the United States and Mexico, the fight promises to be a success not only in terms of viewership, but also regarding the possible revenue to be collected.
The president of Showtime Sports, Steven Espinoza admitted that 2021 has been one of the most memorable in the boxing sector. He posited that 17 live boxing matches have been televised in 2021 alone. Two of these have been under the undisputed category.
Welcoming the two boxers to the event, he said that Canelo made his debut on Showtime nine years ago. Over this time, has beaten various boxers, Floyd Mayweather included. According to Espinoza, Canelo is the biggest star of the sport. However, the 6 November 2021 fight will be a huge one because it pits two champions. He argues that the fact that Showtime has been operational for the last 35 years makes it the biggest platform from which the historic event can be followed.
The trainers of the two boxers have done little to quell the growing tension between the two factions. Justin Gamber is the IBF trainer, who is yet to lose any match in his career. He trains Caleb plant. He acknowledged the long journey taken by his client to reach this stage. He urged fans to tune in and see his Tennessee trainee claim the championship. Eddy Reynoso also assured fans that the much awaited fight would live to its billing.
